Overview

Elite Transient Dual Fuel Commercial Metering Engineer (including Warrant Officer) - Edinburgh

Location: Edinburgh
Compensation: £44,805 / year

Department: YUS - FT13 - General Engineers

Hours: Working away - 3 weeks out of 4. 40 hours: Travel Sunday, Working Monday – Thursday 8am – 7pm, Travel Home Friday. Working from your home postcode - week 4. Location coverage includes Edinburgh(EH)/Kirkcaldy(KY)/Falkirk(FK)/Galashiels(TD).

Overview – Role Context

We’re looking for talented and ambitious engineers to join our rapidly growing business. This is a unique opportunity to grow our field gas and electric metering capability in the commercial sector. The Elite Transient Dual Fuel role involves working in various locations across the UK, with travel three weeks out of four and travel time paid along with a daily sustenance allowance of £25.

This role is aimed at engineers who can deliver positive outcomes for customers and the business, with safety and quality as priorities. You may be upskilled to additional metering capabilities over time.

Responsibilities

• A ‘can-do’ attitude, participate in a variety of field metering activities focused on positive customer outcomes
• Responsible for the safe installation, exchange, commission, removal and ongoing maintenance of metering systems and associated equipment and communication systems
• Undertake Debt Resolution Visits with the aim to fit a Smart Meter to help customers manage their debt
• Undertake Warrant Officer visits to recover debt

Upskilling Opportunities

• Three phase

• Alternating between attending warrants as an engineer and as a Warrant Officer

Essential Qualifications / Experience

• Smart Metering (Dual Fuel) Experience
• Industry Qualifications: CMA1/CCN1 + MET1 (or equivalent)
• Certificate in Power (Logic or equivalent)

Desirable

• MET4 – Small commercial gas metering
• Current Transformer (CT)
• Three Phase
• REGT1-Medium Pressure

• UK Driving Licence
• Pass a colour blindness test
• Pass a DBS check
