Job summary

Responsibilities

• Care of patients on the wards.
• Assistance in the operating theatre.
• Attendance at appropriate clinics and collaboration with clinical nurse specialists.
• Conducting regular review of appropriate literature and clinical data.

Skills

Knowledge and experience in elective and emergency neurosurgery

Ability to prioritise clinical need

Evidence of participation and active involvement in an audit project/research

Experience and ability to work in multi-professional teams

Understanding of clinical risk management

Ability to organise him/herself in a busy department

Education

Eligible for registration with the GMC

FRCS (Neurosurgery) or equivalent

Within 12 months of awarding of CCT

Experience in trauma neurosurgery

Exposure to skull base neurosurgery

Commitment to a career in skull base neurosurgery
