Job Summary

We are looking for a volunteer to run activity sessions at our Wakefield Services. Volunteering with Creative Support is a great way to enrich the lives of people with support needs while helping our staff to deliver person‑centred services.

Basis: Voluntary

Location: Wakefield, Yorkshire

Hours: Part‑time, flexible days and times

Role Overview

We are looking for a creative person with strong communication and leadership skills. You will consult the people we support, plan a programme of activities in line with their interests (such as arts and crafts, music, games, sensory play, board games, movie nights), and work with staff to promote activities to the people we support. You will plan sessions in advance, prepare materials, lead the activities making them accessible for everyone, and promote a positive, person‑centred environment.

Volunteer Duties

• Consult people we support to plan engaging activities in line with their interests
• Prepare for activities, including set‑up and moving tables and chairs if necessary
• Lead activity sessions, engaging with people we support
• Tidy up after activities, returning the room to normal
• Report any safeguarding concerns to Creative Support staff members
• Understand and work within Creative Support Policies and procedures, respecting boundaries
• Attend regular supervisions with your allocated volunteer supervisor and complete any training provided
