Job description
Energy Projects Manager, EMEA Infrastructure Energy Team

Job ID: 3173584 | AWS EMEA SARL (UK Branch)

Energy Projects Manager – EMEA Infrastructure Energy Team (Level 6)

AWS seeks a results-driven professional to join the EMEA Infrastructure Energy Team, managing power strategy across European markets. Responsibilities include conducting market research; originating and securing utility-scale power for AWS’s data centres; providing energy expertise to Site Acquisition; developing compliance strategies for emerging utility regulations (e.g., use-it-or-lose-it, grid codes) across northern Europe; and partnering with Public Policy to position AWS as a trusted utility and policymaker partner while advancing connection reforms critical for business growth.

The position can be based in Dublin or London. Regular travel (10–20%) will be required throughout Europe.

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of comprehensive strategies that enable the origination of scalable power opportunities in EMEA.
  • Collaborate with partner teams to develop business cases that enable AWS business growth and present them to leadership for decision-making.
  • Build strategic relationships with diverse stakeholders, including electricity utilities, utility regulators, and policymakers to support AWS business growth.
  • Support advocacy efforts for grid connection policy changes that remove barriers to expansion in challenging regions.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and support to team members focused on originating and securing utility power.
