A leading organization in foster care is seeking a Team Leader for Home Based Care in Horsham, UK. Your new role

This role is for an experienced practitioner who knows the system, understands carers and young people, and is ready to take the next step into people leadership, or deepen it with our support.

As Team Leader, Home Based Care, you’ll lead the day-to-day operations of foster and kinship care services across the Wimmera catchment, ensuring children and young people experience safe, stable and nurturing placements.

You’ll supervise and support a team of Home-Based Care Case Managers, guide practice, manage workflow and ensure services meet legislative, regulatory and funding requirements. You’ll also build strong partnerships with carers, community agencies, Aboriginal organisations and government stakeholders.

We’re looking for deep foster care expertise first and foremost. If you bring strong practice wisdom, credibility in out-of-home care and a steady presence in complex environments, we’ll support and grow your leadership capability.

You’re someone who brings:

  • Significant experience in foster, kinship or home-based care within child, youth & family services.
  • A strong understanding of statutory placements, carer support & the realities of frontline practice.
  • Ability to coach and guide practitioners working in challenging & emotionally demanding contexts.
  • A sound knowledge of child safety, legislative and government program requirements.
  • Strong communication skills and the flexibility to adapt your approach to different audiences.
  • Alignment with values-led, culturally safe & child-centred practice, keeping people at the heart of decision-making.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in social work, community services, leadership or a related field.
