Job summary

A global engineering services provider in the UK is looking for a Powertrain Definition Technical Analyst. The role involves designing wiring harnesses, updating electrical schematics, and producing layouts in CAD. You will work independently and support a dynamic team, requiring around 5 years of electrical engineering experience, hands-on EDS knowledge, and strong communication skills. This position is mainly remote with occasional travel to the Preston facility.

Qualifications

Expleo is a leading Global Engineering Services Provider with a global presence. We are seeking a Powertrain Definition Technical Analysis to provide support to the Powertrain team. This activity is mainly remote based with some travel to our client’s Preston facility.

• Wiring harness design, cabling layouts, and routing.
• Create and update electrical schematics and documentation.
• Produce electrical layouts in CAD.
• Support the senior electrical engineer with day-to-day project work.
• Operate independently when the supervising engineer isn't available.
• Help with hands-on prototyping or basic testing where needed.
• Contribute to general engineering tasks within a small, fast-moving team.

Experience Required

• Around 5 years' experience in an electrical engineering job
• Hands-on exposure to EDS work - wiring harnesses, cabling, routing or similar
• Comfortable using CAD tools for electrical layout work
• Strong communication skills and able to work with both electrical and mechanical teams
• Reliable, organised, and confident taking responsibility for your own workload
