Job summary

Overview

Support Worker Ayr approx 10 hours per week. £12.60 per hour. SB 04/02/2026. Ayr. Job Advert – Support Worker. Job Reference: 09/Ayr/kSWBB. Hours: around 10 hours per week or 40 hours per month. Confident driver with access to a reliable vehicle. Pay rate £12.60 per hour plus 5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata.

Post subject to successful reference and PVG checks. AILN work on behalf of individual employers who receive Self Directed Support.

Responsibilities

• Work with a sociable lady who has Down Syndrome, providing support to access and participate in her chosen activities.
• Support with travel and daily activities, including assistance with getting in and out of vehicles when needed.
• Help the person to engage in activities such as travelling, office work, socialising with friends, swimming, aqua aerobics, gym activities, 10 pin bowling, eating out, listening to music and going to the cinema.
• Manage own workload, stay attentive and organised, and adapt to flexible hours agreed with the employer.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum of 6 months’ care experience.
• Attentive, organised, with the ability to manage own workload.
• A full Driving licence would be an advantage.
• Confident driver with access to a reliable vehicle.
• Two up-to-date reference contacts required, one from a present or previous employer.
• PVG enhanced disclosure required prior to appointment; disclosure cost to be met by the employer.
• Probationary period of 6 months; either party can end the employment with one week's notice during this period.

General Information

Training on what is required will be provided by the employer. The person can get around by herself but may require some help getting in and out of vehicles. A full driving licence would be an advantage.
