Step Into Teaching

is supporting an exceptional SENSchool in Lambeth that is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of teachers. This is a unique opportunity to gain invaluable teaching experience and develop the skills needed to become a Qualified SEN Teacheror progressin to thearpy roles while making a significant impact on students with complexneeds.

This is a highly rewarding role for someone who wants to inspire curiosity and foster a love for learning among students who require a supportive, dependable, and empathetic graduate teacher.

The Role
  • Work alongside a qualified teacher to deliver engaging lessons to small groups of students (8-11per class).
  • Develop creative, supportive approaches to teaching subjects such as History, Geography, and English, tailored to the needs of SEMH learners.
  • Support and inspire students from KS2- KS5, helping them overcome barriers to learning.
  • Learn from experienced mentors, including psychotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists (SALT), and Occupational Therapists.
  • Gain hands-on teaching experience with full training provided while earning a competitive salary.
The Opportunity
  • Specialist Therapeutic SENSchool environment.
  • Small class sizes (2:8 ratios) with two teachers supporting groups of 8-11 students.
  • Full-time role (Monday – Friday) starting ASAP and continuing until July 2026 and beyond.
  • Salary: £543–£580.00 per week depending on experience.
  • Opportunity to progress toTeacher Training after completing this placement.
The Ideal Candidate Will
  • Hold a 2:1 or above degree
  • Demonstrate a passion for teaching and the ability to inspire students in Humanities subjects.
  • Have the ability to see beyond behaviour, supporting students with Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and fostering their development.
  • Manage behaviour positively and in line with the school’s ethos and policies.
  • Show flexibility, self-motivation, and a genuine commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships with students and staff.
  • Deliver well-structured 1:1 and small group intervention sessions.
  • Have at least 1 year of experience working in education (e.g., as a Teaching Assistant, Mentor, or Higher-Level Teaching Assistant, Tutor).
