A healthcare organization is seeking a candidate for a position in Oncology Physics. The role involves maintaining linear accelerators, performing QA and repairs, and developing new equipment. A vacancy (37 hours) exists in the Technology (Mechanical) Section of Oncology Physics. The post holder will be part of a small team (3.0 whole time equivalent) and contribute to the routine duties in the section, including linear accelerator maintenance, QA and repair, and development of new equipment. Two 3‑d printers have recently been bought by the department. Good communication and organisational skills are essential for the work involved.
Minimum qualifications are a degree or an equivalent level of knowledge. Experience in mechanical engineering including machine shop experience is essential, and some knowledge of radiotherapy physics would be beneficial.

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
