The successful candidate will join us at an exciting point in our journey, building on the momentum of recent high-profile productions delivered in collaboration with West End performers. The Artistic Director / teacher will work collaboratively across Musical Theatre and Performing Arts with the existing team, ensuring outstanding standards of delivery, assessment and performance, while fostering a collaborative, professional and supportive team culture.
Be a self-motivated, highly organised and experienced creative practitioner, with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise effectively.
Demonstrate extensive Musical Theatre / vocal coaching expertise, with a proven track record of current professional practice delivered to a consistently high standard.
Evidence recent and varied industry and teaching experience, maintaining strong links with contemporary practice and professional networks.
Ideally have experience of delivering and assessing BTEC programmes, with a secure understanding of quality assurance and assessment requirements.
Be a strong and versatile teacher, with drama skills essential and experience across a range of levels; Grade 1 teaching experience is desirable, reflecting our status as a centre of excellence.
Show a positive, collaborative and team-focused approach, working effectively with colleagues and contributing to a culture of mutual respect, shared ambition and high professional standards.
Thrive under pressure, with the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced creative environment.

Create and deliver high-quality presentations and performances, modelling best practice for students and staff.
Work closely with Marketing, Performing Arts and Creative Arts teams to enhance the profile, impact and reputation of Wigan & Leigh College.
