Overview

Join to apply for the eCommerce Tech Lead role at American Golf. This role is based at our Retail Support Centre in Warrington. As the UK’s leading golf retailer, we’re on a mission to be the one-stop destination for everything a golfer needs – both in-store and online. This is a unique opportunity to shape the technical direction of our eCommerce platforms, driving innovation, performance, and scalability across web and mobile. You’ll play a pivotal role in delivering seamless digital experiences that inspire golfers and elevate our brand.

What You’ll Do
  • Define and own the ecommerce technical roadmap, ensuring platforms are scalable, secure, and built to support a true omni-channel customer experience.
  • Lead the end-to-end technical delivery of new features, integrations, and enhancements across web and mobile.
  • Partner with Product, Digital Trading, UX, and Marketing teams to align technical solutions with commercial goals.
  • Oversee key integrations, including payment gateways, CRM, ERP, and fulfilment platforms.
  • Champion best practices in coding, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Monitor and optimise site performance, driving improvements in speed, accessibility, and reliability.
  • Manage relationships with external developers and technology partners, ensuring high-quality delivery.
  • Mentor and develop a team of developers and QA engineers, fostering innovation and collaboration.
What You’ll Bring
  • Proven experience in eCommerce development and technical leadership.
  • Strong understanding of ecommerce platforms such as Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Magento, Shopify Plus, or equivalent.
  • Experience with integrations across payment systems, CRM, ERP, OMS, and third-party platforms.
  • Strong architectural design and problem-solving skills, with a track record of delivering scalable, high-performing solutions.
  • Experience working in agile environments and managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • A passion for innovation and improving the digital customer journey through a true omni-channel approach.
