Job summary

A leading plant science institute in East Grinstead is seeking a full-time Teaching Lead to inspire and engage learners in the importance of plants and conservation. Overview

Join us for the opportunity to lead our teaching team to inspire and engage learners in the importance of plants and conservation in the Wakehurst landscape. Supported by our fully planned curriculum linked workshops and knowledgeable team, you can let nature do the talking away from the constraints of formal learning. This is a chance to get back to what matters: inspiring a sense of awe and wonder for the natural world and a genuine curiosity to learn in young people. Wakehurst Learning programme currently welcomes over 11,000 pupils from EYFS to KS5 from schools across the South- East and we are looking for an experienced leader to join our team.

An Enhanced DBS Check is required for this role.

The role is full time and site-based at Wakehurst.

Qualifications
  • Be educated to degree level or equivalent in a related subject such as biology, geography, education, the environment.
  • Have a teaching qualification and significant experience of teaching and delivering science education programmes within the last three years.
  • Have experience of working with a wide range of abilities and ages (Primary and Secondary).
  • Have a good working knowledge of plant biology, conservation, and the UK Science National Curriculum.

The salary for this position is £39,243 per annum [Band D].
