What we’re looking for.
The AE role is the central point of support across our automotive team at Performance. The individual is expected to help maintain systems and processes that enable the team to work efficiently, juggling the unique requirements of a varied client portfolio that includes consumer brands and global automotive OEMs operating at UK, European and international level.
Working across premium and luxury automotive brands, the AE will support the day‑to‑day management of client activity and PR programmes, gaining hands‑on experience across integrated campaigns, product launches and brand activations.
The right candidate will be passionate and informed about the automotive and technology sector, with a strong working knowledge of current affairs. We’re looking for someone who is organised, reliable and shows a flair for copywriting, with the ability to understand complex automotive and technical ideas and translate them into clear, engaging communications.
The successful candidate will act as a key contact for clients, enthusiastically taking on the broad day‑to‑day requirements of the team, supporting Account Managers and Senior Account Managers to ensure activity is delivered to a high standard, on time and in line with client objectives, while thriving under pressure.
What you will be doing.
- Act as a day-to-day client contact, supporting Account Managers and Senior Account Managers on automotive OEM accounts
- Support the delivery of integrated PR campaigns, product launches, activations, and media activity across premium and performance brands
- Build effective working relationships with client teams and internal stakeholders
- Support the development and delivery of content, including press releases, media materials, campaign copy, and briefing documents
- Assist in taking and writing briefs, ensuring clarity on objectives, messaging, and deliverables
- Develop a strong understanding of each OEM brand’s values, tone of voice, positioning, internal processes, and product portfolio
- Conduct media monitoring and research to identify coverage opportunities, competitor activity, and industry trends
- Support reporting and evaluation, including status updates, coverage reports, and media lists
- Coordinate third‑party suppliers (photography, filming, events, branding) and support on shoots and activations
- Assist with budget tracking, POs, invoices, and reconciliation, ensuring financial processes are followed
- Maintain accurate account documentation, timelines, and filing systems
- Support senior team members in ensuring quality control across all written material
- Action all account housekeeping‑related matters, including meeting agendas, minutes, contact reports, and circulation, internal team coordination
- Manage the weekly team meetings, ensuring team attendance, agenda setting with relevant brainstorms, update and circulation of worksheets
- Support the management and upkeep of client media centres, ensuring content, assets, and information are accurate, up to date
- Manage guidelines and digital assets that is accessible for all team members
- Ensure a comprehensive client filing system across accounts, updating when required

- Experience working with clients or stakeholders in a professional setting (agency or in‑house)
- Interest in working on UK, European or global automotive accounts
- Proficiency in additional languages is desirable, particularly where it supports collaboration with regional teams, partners, or markets (French, Spanish, Italian)
