Role: Senior Content Designer

A Senior Content Designer is an experienced professional who works on complex or large-scale services with minimal supervision. They operate autonomously, influencing and mentoring others to create user-centred content to a high standard.

They collaborate with multidisciplinary delivery teams to design content informed by experience, best practices, and evidence, aligning with client objectives and user needs.

They actively contribute to fostering a healthy user-centred design (UCD) community and culture at Made Tech. The role reports to a Lead Content Designer.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ensure quality content delivery within your service team and contribute to Made Tech’s content design standards.
2. Take responsibility for producing high-quality, user-centred content.
3. Assist delivery teams in understanding problems and testing ideas.
4. Maintain good knowledge of making services accessible to all.
5. Audit services to identify content accessibility issues.
6. Have a thorough understanding of the government Service Standard and how to meet it through content design best practices.
7. Share and improve content collaboratively.
8. Manage and oversee content across multiple channels, creating and iterating as needed.
9. Encourage teams to review and improve processes and systems.
10. Build trusting relationships with clients and understand their needs.
11. Identify opportunities for new work.
12. Support the hiring and onboarding of content designers.
13. Contribute to a safe, supportive, and healthy community of practice.
14. Represent content design publicly and internally.
