We have an exciting opportunity for a Porter to join our Healthcare team at HMP Fosse Way, a category C Prison located in Glen Parva, Leicestershire.

HMP Fosse Way is a busy prison with a capacity for around 1700 males. Fosse Way opened in 2023 so is a fairly new and modern, it is a resettlement prison that focuses on education and retraining. We are recruiting for a Porter to support the Healthcare team with duties such as gate collections, delivering items to inmates and around the prison. This is a big site so there will be a lot of walking involved.

Salary

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £28,574 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

What you'll be doing

• Provide a high standard of portering services and housekeeping, escorting visitors and contractors into and around the prison.
• You will deal with patients, healthcare colleagues and other professionals over the phone and face to face.
• Deliver a tidy healthcare area, monitoring and ordering stock as necessary, paying attention to expiry dates and cost of equipment.
• Inspire excellence by dealing with patients and colleagues professionally.
• Promote professionalism within the completion of your duties to ensure a tidy, safe environment is maintained across all healthcare areas.
• Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care, and build multi-disciplinary teams of clinical and non-clinical colleagues who support each other to do a great job.
