St Thomas More is a successful and thriving secondary school, proud to be part of the Bishop Wilkinson Catholic Education Trust. As a school community, we work closely with colleagues within our Trust, our Diocese, and the Local Authority to ensure our pupils and families are supported in every way possible. We welcome collaboration wherever it strengthens our ability to help young people flourish.

At St Thomas More, our mission is central to everything we do. Rooted in the teachings of Christ, our aim is to enable every member of our community—staff and pupils alike—to reach their full potential. We want teachers who are committed to this mission: colleagues who genuinely love and care for our pupils, who serve them with compassion, and who strive every day to deliver the very best education and pastoral support.

We speak openly about the power of love and the importance of every pupil knowing that they are valued for who they are. Our Catholic ethos is at the heart of our school, shaping the way we think, act, and relate to one another. While we honour our traditions, we warmly welcome teachers and families of all faiths and none. What matters most is a shared belief in dignity, kindness, and respect.

Community is central to who we are. We focus on building strong, trusting relationships because we know that young people thrive when they feel they belong and when the adults around them care deeply about their success and wellbeing. We are looking for teachers who will contribute to this sense of community—professionals who will build meaningful relationships with pupils and families, celebrate their achievements, and support them when things are difficult.

We believe that academic success and personal development go hand in hand. Our ambition is for pupils to leave St Thomas More as happy, confident, and successful young people, equipped with the knowledge, skills, and character to pursue their aspirations. Teachers who join us must share this belief and be committed to helping pupils excel both inside and outside the classroom.

We are seeking a Teacher of Maths with the expertise, enthusiasm, and commitment to inspire our pupils and strengthen our already successful Maths department. The role will carry a TLR linked to whole school teaching and learning and curriculum. We are therefore looking for a colleague who has a passion for supporting the development of staff through high-quality professional learning, contributing to a culture in which teachers continually grow and refine their practice.

In addition, we welcome interest from colleagues who feel they could contribute to the development of Key Stage 3 numeracy interventions, helping us to build strong mathematical foundations that support pupils across all subjects.

The opportunity to join our staff team is an exciting one. We are seeking teachers who will bring love, care, ambition, and dedication to our pupils; who will support our ethos wholeheartedly; and who will contribute to our ongoing journey of excellence.
