Job summary

A leading energy solutions provider is looking for a Senior Engineer - Chemistry to develop and finalise technical justifications for the next-generation SMR design. This role involves collaborating with multi-disciplinary engineering teams and regulatory bodies to integrate chemistry requirements. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Chemistry, along with practical experience in nuclear environments. Competitive salary range of £50,650 - £66,500 plus benefits, including hybrid working options.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Chemistry or closely related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of water chemistry, impurity management and corrosion mechanisms.
  • Practical experience in nuclear or power-generation chemistry within regulated environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and finalise chemistry-related technical justifications for GDA Step 3 submissions.
  • Engage cross-functionally with systems engineering and design teams.
  • Collaborate with regulators and external stakeholders.
