Annual salary: £72,000 per annum based on an average of 42 hours per week
Contract: 12-month fixed term contract (starting in February or August 2027)
Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine Senior Clinical Fellow
Role purpose
Working alongside the other emergency services, to provide pre-hospital critical care involving the management of seriously ill or injured patients who may be trapped or require specialist interventions before transport. To provide safe secondary critical care transfer between hospitals. To participate in the EAAA clinical governance programme by contributing to clinical case reviews, governance days and teaching. This will include research and audit in conjunction with external partners.
Responsibilities
- Participate in clinical case reviews.
- Undertake research and audit.
- Undertake simulation training with the clinical team.
- Take a full role in organising and participating in the charity’s Clinical Governance Days.
- Maintain the clinical database (HEMSbase) and assist with outcome measurement analysis of the trauma and cardiac arrest data sets.
- Participate in the development and review of clinical and non-clinical SOPs.
- Maintain currency and excellence with medical skills and procedures. Maintain regular statutory training and continuing professional development.
- Provide supervision to medical and paramedic students on electives when required.
- From time to time, the post holder may be required to work at any of the Charity’s sites in line with organisational needs.

Selection process
- Recruitment Selection Day: Shortlisted applicants must be available to attend a recruitment selection day at Helimed House in Norwich on Tuesday 03 March.
- Interview date: Interviews will take place on Monday 16 & Tuesday 17 March.
- Please note this is not a LET-B recognised training post, and you will not receive a National Training Number or a CCT in PHEM.
Role details
You will be trained by East Anglian Air Ambulance as a member of a specialist pre-hospital emergency medical team, who provide the full range of pre-hospital medical interventions. This role will partner a critical care paramedic and may lead the clinical team, responding to a wide range of critically ill patients across the East of England.
