Job description

Delivery of a customer focused service, whilst meeting all Health & Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Morale targets.

Managing the procurement of goods and services essential to the organization’s operations.

This role is responsible for implementation of sourcing strategies, Category / commodity benchmarking, negotiating supplier agreements, and ensuring cost-effective, timely, and high-quality procurement.

The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset, strong supplier relationship management skills, and a deep understanding of supply chain dynamics with the drive to develop the procurement strategy. Working proactively, driving best practice with a positive culture of_args> continuous improvement and task execution to drive the organisation forward.

Main duties and responsibilities:
  • Manage the procurement process for procurement categories / commodities, materials, and services, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
  • Working with the Purchasing manager, develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimise cost, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and manage supplier relationships to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and service level agreements.
  • Conduct & lead monthly supplier performance meetings to drive improvement in supplier performance.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in the supply base.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to secure the best value.
  • Lead supplier escalation meetings to ensure supplier gaps in supply are resolved.
  • Liaise with other personnel across the Hendrickson group as necessary to ensure the customer requirements are met.
  • Maintaining and updating sales and customer records.
  • To support customer run-down on engineering change / NPI projects as required.
  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Mentor and support junior purchasing staff as needed.
  • Support problem solving exercises to investigate causes of deviation from process.
  • Carry out reasonable additional responsibilities as requested by the Company.
