The Research department is dedicated to providing high quality, patient centred, clinical research throughout the Trust. The role of the Research Nurse/AHP is to coordinate the delivery of clinical research studies, both commercial and non-commercial at HHFT. As a Research Nurse/AHP, you will be responsible for assessing and managing the care pathways for patients and carers participating in these trials, facilitating high standards of nursing care and promoting the continuity of care of trials patients. This will involve recruitment, education and monitoring of trial patients and the collection and documentation of accurate research data, all of which must be managed in accordance with ICH, GCP and the EU Directive on Clinical Trials and local HHFT SOP’s.
The post holder will be expected to use and develop relevant skills and knowledge relating to clinical trials, research methodology and requirements of local, national and international research regulations. You will work collaboratively with the wider multi-disciplinary team in the management of your caseload of clinical trial patients. You will promote the continued improvement in the care of research participants and quality of research data.
The post holder will support and deputise for the Senior Research Nurse/Practitioner, ensuring effective leadership of others within the research team.
The post holder will be required to work across all sites in Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic Research Nurse/AHP with clinical and research experience, who is organised, self-motivated and aspires to further their knowledge and career in Clinical Research. You will be involved in all aspects of the research process from study start-up, recruitment and delivery, to closure of a study. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to manage a research portfolio and implement and recruit to studies.

Previous oncology experience would be preferable.

The role of the Research nurse/practitioner is to coordinate clinical research studies at HHFT. As a Research Nurse/practitioner you will be responsible for assessing and managing the care pathways for patients and carers participating in these trials, facilitating high standards of nursing care and promoting the continuity of care of patients involved in these trials.
