A leading FMCG wholesaler based in Leicester is seeking an HGV Class 2 Driver. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods, ensuring compliance with UK transport laws without manual handling. As an HGV Class 2 Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods across various locations, ensuring compliance with UK transport laws and company policies. The role does not involve any manual handling, and all goods will be loaded and unloaded by warehouse staff or customers.
Driving and Deliveries:
Operate a Class 2 (Category C) HGV safely and responsibly.
Ensure timely and secure delivery of goods without delays.
Comply with UK road traffic laws, tachograph regulations, and working time rules.
Plan routes efficiently using GPS and delivery schedules.
Vehicle Checks and Compliance:
Carry out daily vehicle checks to ensure the HGV is roadworthy.
Report any faults, damages, or required maintenance to the transport office.
Maintain compliance with company and legal requirements, including regular servicing.
Record-Keeping and Communication:
Complete all delivery paperwork, logbooks, and tachograph records accurately.
Communicate with the transport office regarding any delays or route changes.
Follow all company policies regarding safety, security, and customer interaction.
Valid UK HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification
Digital tachograph card
Good understanding of UK transport laws, tachograph rules, and working time regulations
Experience in HGV driving (preferred but not essential)
Excellent time management and navigation skills
Good level of spoken and written English
No manual handling or heavy lifting required – all goods are loaded/unloaded for you
