A leading global technology company is looking for a Project Manager in Glasgow. Ideal candidates will have a technical background in Electrical Engineering and a proven track record managing projects in the power transmission sector. Responsibilities include planning and managing projects while ensuring effective communication with clients. Certifications in Project Management are advantageous, and support for obtaining these can be provided. This role requires a willingness to travel occasionally within the UK.
Our Project Management team in Hitachi Energy UK is expanding. This rolein the area ofGrid Automation (high & Medium voltage substations Protection and control (RTU, SCADA,DCS )is ideally suited for someone who has a proventrack recordin the execution of end-user facing projects in the Transmission and distribution market with customersincludingTSOs,EPCs, and DNOs.
Skilled at planning and forecasting activities using tools such as SAP and Primavera P6 / Microsoft Projects. You willbe responsible forplanning and managing the project frominceptionthrough to the end of the Warranty. This will includerepresentingHitachi Energy's commercial, contractual interests and managing and negotiations in line with FIDIC, NEC 3/NEC 4 orOrgalimeforms of contract. Excellent communication skills and a willingnessto travelto clients and partners within the UK (circa 10% of time) will berequired.
How you'll make an impact:
In order topromote effective communicationwith inthe team the following points would be desirable:
Technical background in Electrical or control systemEngineering .
Strong knowledge of the fundamentals of power system design, operations, and testing would beanadvantage.
Knowledge of the fundamentals of networking, virtualization, and cybersecurity would be an advantage
Certifications in Project Management (APM, IPMA, PMI, or equivalent) would beadvantageous. Support to obtain these certifications can be provided.
In addition to your proventrack recordin project management, your credentials will include the ability to integrate into the wider Hitachi Energy team within the UK and across Europe. Including participation in the Hitachi Project Management Certification Programme.
Continuous learning is a fundamental principle within Hitachi, and any gaps in knowledge can be addressed through training and experiences to suit.
Background:
Experience delivering solutions in a Power Transmission project environment.
Engineering background, Electrical and Control systems / Computer networks
Based inScotland- willing to be either inGlasgow3 days a week, and 2 days a month in Stone, Staffordshire.
HNC/HND / Degree with proven experiencewithin Project Management working within our industry.
Chartered Engineer or professionally certified Project Manager
