Overview

Strategic Workforce Planning Partner - Belfast

MCS Group is partnering with a leading financial services organisation to appoint an Strategic Workforce Planning Partner to join their growing HR function. This is a highly visible, future-focused role within the Organisational Effectiveness team, reporting to the Head of OE and working closely with senior stakeholders across the business.

This role will play a critical part in shaping how the organisation plans its workforce today while preparing for the skills, capabilities and roles required over the next 2-4 years.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Lead diagnostic work to assess current workforce planning capability across short and longer-term horizons
  • Design and develop strategic workforce planning approaches aligned to future business needs
  • Analyse workforce and skills data to generate insights, conclusions and multiple evidence-based options for leaders
  • Support the organisation\'s journey towards a skills-based operating model, including skills assessment, mobility and upskilling initiatives
  • Explore creative and practical uses of technology, data and tools to improve workforce planning outcomes, working within existing system constraints
  • Develop proposals and frameworks that support future skills forecasting, workforce flow and organisational readiness
  • Engage and influence senior stakeholders, building strong relationships and sponsorship for change
  • Bring external market insight, trends and best practice to challenge thinking and provoke innovation
  • Contribute to projects focused on workforce transformation, change and business readiness
The Ideal Candidate
  • Experience working in workforce planning, organisational effectiveness, transformation, data, consulting or a related area
  • Strong analytical capability, with confidence working with data to inform decision-making
  • Interest in skills-based organisations, future of work, digital tools and AI
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and experimenting with new ideas and approaches
  • Proven ability to influence and engage stakeholders at multiple levels, including senior leaders
  • A hands-on, delivery-focused mindset with the confidence to challenge constructively
