Overview

We are currently seeking a Systemic Psychotherapist to join our Under 18 Eating Disorder Day Service, a pilot initiative launched in January 2024. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to an evolving and innovative service that is already making a positive impact by supporting young people with moderate to severe eating disorders within the community. The position is available as a secondment until 31st March 2027.

Responsibilities

• Deliver intensive, family‑focused interventions designed to prevent inpatient admissions, blending multi‑family group therapy with direct, home‑based therapeutic input through the Closer2Home team.
• Provide high quality, evidence‑based systemic Family Therapy to individuals, their families, and carers with an eating disorder.
• Work as a member of a multidisciplinary team to provide assessment and interventions for individuals and their families referred to the Eating Disorders Service.
• Develop specialist family therapy assessment and intervention within the team.
• Provide family therapy advice and supervision to colleagues.
• Involve service users and carers in the planning of their treatment and the development of the service.
• Promote autonomy of individuals; assess, plan, and implement interventions and care to promote recovery from eating disorders.

Qualifications and Experience

• Dynamic, compassionate, and experienced systemic therapist with clinical confidence and creativity.
• Background in CAMHS and/or eating disorder services with a track record of working with young people and families.
• Skills in delivering systemic interventions, supporting family functioning, and contributing to service development.
• Capability to collaborate within a multi‑disciplinary team.
• UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are beneficial but not essential.
• We welcome applications from individuals nearing completion of their systemic psychotherapy training.
