A municipal authority in Greater London is seeking a Gardener/Gardener (Volunteer Facilitator) to maintain and enhance city gardens. This role involves practical horticultural tasks and engaging with corporate volunteers. We are recruiting formultiple Gardener roles, includingstandard Gardener positionsandGardener – Volunteer Facilitator positions. These are varied and rewarding roles that require a full range of horticultural skills, the use of landscaping equipment, and a commitment tomaintainingour award-winning gardens to the highest standards. You will be supported with the resources needed to deliver ongoing maintenance, improvements, and horticultural projects.
Gardener roleswill focus primarily on the practical maintenance and improvement of City Gardens.
Gardener – Volunteer Facilitator roleswill additionally involve working with the public, including delivering and supporting corporate volunteer days and engaging confidently with groups of volunteers.
The successful candidates will:
Hold a Level 2 horticulture qualification
Have good practical horticultural experience, ideally within busy urban green spaces
Be flexible and able to work both independently and as part of a team
Be confident using mobile technology to work on the move
For the Gardener – Volunteer Facilitator role, have strong people skills and confidence engaging with and speaking to groups
