Overview

Could you be a Sense Deputy Care Manager?

Sense are looking for a passionate and motivated person to join our team as a Deputy Care Manager at our service in Seaton, Devon. This is a permanent role, 37.5 hours per week, with a salary of £28,378 per annum.

The role

Deputy Care Manager responsibilities include supporting the Registered Care Manager to run the supported living service, providing a customised, responsive and high-quality service to people with multiple sensory impairments and/or learning disabilities. You will be a frontline supervisor, supporting the manager to effectively manage a team of staff to deliver person-centred, specialist services.

The service is located in Seaton, Devon, with the seafront a short walk away. We support individuals to live the life they choose, including access to the beach, seafront strolls and social activities.

You will support 6 adults with learning disabilities and help create opportunities for them to live fulfilling lives and engage in meaningful experiences. You will need knowledge of person-centred planning, rota planning and staff management/development. You should be a committed, flexible and enthusiastic team player who can coach and mentor a team of support workers. IT literacy and some administration duties are required.

About you
We’re looking for enthusiastic applicants who have
  • 2 years experience in a Deputy Manager role within a Health & Social care setting.
  • Level 3 Diploma Leadership in Health & Social Care.
  • Experience and knowledge of working to CQC guidelines.
  • Substantial experience of providing support including personal care.
  • A positive, can-do attitude.
  • Passion about enhancing other people’s lives.

Role duties
  • Supporting individuals/groups and the service manager with daily tasks.
  • Assisting the manager with running the service, including rota, supervising, mentoring and leading the team to ensure responsibilities are fulfilled and systems are maintained to guarantee compliance.
  • Providing a customised, responsive and high-quality service to people with multiple sensory impairments, physical and/or learning disabilities who use Sense services.
  • Delivering services which meet or exceed organisational expectations and standards.
  • Recognising each person is unique and tailoring care accordingly.
