Job description

Vent-Axia, part of Volution Group plc, improves the indoor environment by providing ventilation solutions. The majority of Vent-Axia's sales are in the UK, primarily through electrical wholesalers, contractors, developers and DIY retailers.

We are looking for an ambitious and driven Regional Sales Manager – Distribution to take ownership of Distributor account development across both over-the-counter (OTC) products and ventilation projects. Your will be responsible for the region including postcodes: TR, PL, TQ, EX, TA, DT, BH, PO, SO, SP, BA, BS, SN, and RG.

In this role, you will play a key part in expanding our regional presence by developing new and existing distributor relationships, supporting promotional activity through effective point-of-sale execution, and identifying new distribution and growth opportunities.

You will be responsible for achieving annual sales targets, attending customer and contractor site visits, and delivering exceptional service. Proven business development experience is essential, alongside strong communication and presentation skills.

Experience within the electrical wholesale industry or a similar technical/manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential. Full technical training will be provided, including building regulations and site information, ensuring you are fully equipped to succeed.

As a Regional Sales Manager, you will:

  • Understand the need to identify different sales strategies for different product groups.
  • Develop relationships with key personnel within your customer base at the right level.
  • Grow OTC sales by actively pushing and gaining promotional orders.
  • Always understand where you are tracking and what is needed to achieve sales targets.
  • Attend and support customers during marketing events such as trade days or breakfast mornings.
  • Develop and implement market communications programs and campaigns to support the target market share position.
  • Continually increase business knowledge and learn new skills through training and personal development.
  • Effectively communicate with support teams at Head Office.
  • Produce and submit accurate monthly reports on time, showing development of the Electrical Wholesale market.
  • Manage customer expectations to ensure deadlines are met or exceeded.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • 1-3 years of proven sales, business development, and account management experience with a strong willingness to learn and develop
  • Experience within the electrical wholesale industry or a similar technical/manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential.
  • A base within the region.
  • The ability to grasp technical issues and deliver customer‑focused solutions.
  • Full responsibility for business development (70% of the role), and market development and communications (30% of the role).
  • Strong territory management skills with a structured approach to account coverage.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
  • A flexible, resilient approach when managing competing priorities and demands.
  • Adaptability to work within a complex, multi‑cultural, multi‑location organization.
  • A valid Driver’s License.
