A community support organization in Cambridge is seeking a Program Assistant to provide essential support for formerly homeless clients within the Carey Permanent Supported Housing Program. The Department of Human Service Programs (DHSP) creates and coordinates services that enhance the quality of life for Cambridge residents. Driven by the needs of residents, DHSP’s extensive services and programs touch almost every sector in the city: from newborns to senior citizens, from school‑aged children to homeless families, from non‑profit organizations to local employers.
The Carey Permanent Supported Housing Program provides housing at the Cambridge YMCA. Case management services are provided to 22 formerly homeless men. The Carey Program Assistant is responsible for providing support to program participants to ensure they can successfully maintain their housing. This position will work collaboratively with the Carey Team, which consists of the Program Coordinator and the Multi‑Service Center Director.
