Playing a vitally important role in keeping our towns and villages and people moving, the main duties include traffic and transportation engineering, road safety, strategy development, funding bids and sustainable transport. You should have knowledge and experience of legislation and technical aspects in this area of work (e.g. TSRGD, Traffic Signs Manual and relevant Acts).You will play a vital role in transportation planning and contributing to policy making and strategy development. Successful candidates will also have supervisory responsibility.Experience in the development and delivery of traffic and transportation related projects, both major and minor, would be advantageous, including the procurement and financial monitoring required. You should be able to work under pressure to specific deadlines and directions, whilst working as part of a wider specialist team. Successful candidates must have a HNC in Civil Engineering, or equivalent in a relevant subject, and ideally you should be an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer or working towards this.You will be expected to travel throughout the Council area. A commitment to customer focus, service delivery and responsiveness will be vital as will the ability to commit to our constant efforts to refine, innovate and improve delivery.For these posts and other across the Service we have adopted a hybrid approach to working arrangements.
