Job summary

A leading provider of HGV maintenance services is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join their team in Greater London. The successful candidate will be responsible for the service, inspection, maintenance, and repair of trucks and trailers, alongside various diagnostic activities. Qualifications include being NVQ Level 3 certified in Heavy Goods Maintenance or equivalent. The role offers an OTE of £60,000 with additional overtime opportunities and a range of employee benefits including a refer-a-friend scheme and medical benefits.

Qualifications

• Qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Goods Maintenance or equivalent or proven experience as an HGV Technician or similar role in vehicle maintenance.
• Proficient in using hand tools and power tools.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Responsibilities

• Service, inspection, maintenance, and repair of trucks and trailers.
• Electrical, electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic fault diagnosis and repair.
• Overhaul electrical equipment and components.
• Set and operate machine tools and equipment.
• Perform welding and metal working.
• Prepare for Department of Transport (MOT) testing.
• Manage parts ordering and stores.
• Support Apprentice Technicians as needed.
• Record time and detail of completed jobs.
• Inspect and repair workshop equipment when directed.

Responsibilities

• Service, inspection, maintenance and repair of trucks and trailers
• Electrical, electronic, mechanical and hydraulic fault diagnosis, repair and installation
• Overhaul electrical equipment and components
• Setting and operating of machine tools and equipment
• Welding and metal working
• Department of Transport (MOT) testing preparation
• Parts ordering and stores management
• Support team members including Apprentice Technicians as required
• Accurately record time and detail of completed jobs
• Carry out inspection and repair of workshop equipment as directed

Qualifications

• Qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Goods Maintenance or equivalent or proven experience as an HGV Technician or similar role in vehicle maintenance.

Salary and overtime

OTE £60,000 (OTE based on total average earnings of Technicians in the garage over a 3 month period). Overtime available paid at £34.69ph
