We work on projects of all sizes, scopes and scales, from the large M25 Project to the niche Human Drive. To lead in emerging areas that interest you, all you need to do is speak up and take the initiative.We are seeking to recruit an Associate to be based in our Stockton office to support the ongoing expansion of business opportunities primarily within the local transport markets across the UK, as well as supporting the strategic highways market and other market sectors. The role will require occasional in person support to our other nearby offices.## Your Role* Take a leadership role within the Highways and Active Travel practice.* Develop and maintain client relationships, identifying new opportunities and growth propositions for the practice. Develop offers and fees for clients and take a key role in bid preparation.* Lead design and project teams for projects with our key clients such as Local Authorities, National Highways, Network Rail, Combined Authorities, Developers and/or major Contractors.* Identify potential design solutions by using excellent analytical skills to solve engineering problems and applying engineering judgement to appraise and recommend options.* Oversee the production of design documentation including sketches, drawings, calculations, reports and specifications to quality, programme and budget requirements.* Work collaboratively with colleagues across AtkinsRéalis.* Train and mentor staff including graduates and apprentices.## About you## * Degree / relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering* Chartered or Incorporated member (or able to demonstrate progression towards achieving) of a relevant institution (ICE/CIHT).* Experience in highway alignment design, incorporating active travel and bus priority measures, including links and junctions.* A thorough comprehension of technical standards relating to highway and active travel design.* Experience of client interface and project management.* Ability to advise clients on technical matters.* Ability to coach and develop team members.* A willingness to work flexibly to deliver projects to time and budget.## Reward & benefitsExplore the rewards and benefits that help you thrive – at every stage of your life and your career.
