Overview

Data Engineer (IT) contractor, 6 months, hybrid in Milton Keynes, pay rate outside IR35. Key skills include Large Language Models, Azure Cognitive Services, Python, and security clearance (DV required).

Location

United Kingdom — Milton Keynes, England, United Kingdom. Hybrid work setup.

Engagement

Initial 6 month contract, outside IR35. DV clearance required prior to starting the role. Note: security clearance may take up to a minimum of 18 weeks.

Key Qualifications

• Proficient skills working on Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Proficiency in evaluating, deploying and using on-premise open source technology stacks.
• Proficiency in Azure Cognitive Services, including Azure Language Service, Azure Text Analytics, Azure Speech Service, and other AI-related offerings.
• Good understanding of OpenAI GPT models and how they integrate with Azure services; knowledge of GPT capabilities and limitations.
• Strong programming skills in Python for working with Azure services and data manipulation.
• Good understanding of databases (e.g., Postgres).
• Proficient knowledge of backend languages (Node.js, Python and/or Golang).
• Proficient knowledge of a frontend technology (React or Angular).
• Hands-on technical skills related to backend development.
• Experience with AWS and GCP is an added advantage.
• Demonstrated cluster management knowledge using Kubernetes, Rancher, Helm, Docker.
• Familiarity with UI mockups tools (Figma).
• Cloud certification at developer level or equivalent is an added advantage; Azure AI Certification or equivalent is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with data engineering and machine learning models.
