Job summary

A leading service provider in the waste management sector is seeking an E&I Craftsperson for a fixed-term contract in the United Kingdom. This role involves ensuring maintenance delivery at the Low Level Waste Repository site, improving plant performance, and supporting safety culture. Candidates should have a relevant electrical engineering qualification, proven plant maintenance experience, and the ability to work in controlled areas. Training on confined spaces is also required.

Qualifications

  • Time served fully qualified craftsperson with Nominated Person (Electrical) capability.
  • Proven experience in plant maintenance (electrical and instrumentation).
  • Knowledge of Electricity at Work Regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver day-to-day maintenance activities safely and timely.

Job description

We are looking for an E&I Craftsperson to join our NWS team on a 18 - 24 month fixed term contract to support maintenance delivery activities at the Low Level Waste Repository site.

As a E&I Craftsperson you will maintain and improve plant performance in line with production demands and regulatory/ statutory requirement.

  • To deliver the day to day LLWR maintenance activities in a safe and timely manner
  • Proactive support of LLWR safety culture, working to RSP 1.15 Electrical Safety Suite of Documents
  • Resolve problems associated with plant breakdowns and plant throughput
  • To provide support to LLWR engineers for implementing plant improvements and modifications.
  • To proactively improve plant availability through continuous equipment monitoring, repair and maintenance
  • To be a Nominated Person (Electrical), NP (e), to provide Equipment Isolations
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
  • Time served fully qualified craftsperson that is capable of obtaining Nominated Person (Electrical) status
  • Educated to ONC/ HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
  • BS7671 IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Proven plant maintenance experience within both electrical and instrumentation fields and be familiar with relevant Safe System of Work Documentation e.g. ITC, WCA etc.
  • Proven experience and knowledge of Electricity at Work Regulations and RSP 1.15 Electrical Safety suite of documents.
  • Able to work effectively and flexibly as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated person, with a professional attitude, who must have commitment to achieving company values and goals.
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate key information with customers, suppliers and other stakeholders
  • The applicant must have ability to work in the controlled areas using PVC and Respirator.
  • The applicant must have the ability enter confined spaces and training to wear a harness.
Desirable
  • City and Guilds 2391 Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations
