The Role

We are a large, well‑organised Secondary school in Redbridge and are seeking an experienced or newly experienced Design & Technology Technician to join our busy team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the delivery of practical lessons and maintaining the department's technical facilities. The duties will include:

• Daily maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment in the D&T department.
• Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations and maintaining accurate records.
• Preparing apparatus, tools, and materials for practical classes and assessments.
• Managing stock levels, placing orders, and maintaining financial records.
• Assisting teachers and students during practical lessons and providing technical advice.
• Organising and storing equipment and materials safely and securely.
• Supporting the development of the department's technical and practical facilities.
• Contributing to the maintenance of displays and assisting with whole‑school initiatives.
