Salary up to £30,000 - £50,000 DOE including on-call & overtime + benefits

Metro Rod work with the likes of Tesco, Marks and Spencer, Mitie, Clarion, Axa, Wetherspoons and many more in the FM, Social Housing, Property Management, Retail, Industrial and Leisure sectors. Founded in 1983, Metro Rod and its sister company Metro Plumb are leading providers of drain clearance and maintenance services delivered on a largely reactive basis. The services are provided by over 60 franchisees with geographical coverage across the UK. We’ve been clearing and unblocking drains for more than thirty years and we’re proud of our reputation for quality service and customer satisfaction. Major companies and leading high street names trust us to deal with all their regular drain maintenance and we’ll bring the same high standards of service to tackle your drain blockage.

Within the Waste & Water Services Division of Franchise Brands, is also Willow Pumps and Filta. Two expanding businesses that focus on sewage pumps and commercial kitchen solutions. Together, the brands provide a complete one-stop shop for keeping water and waste flowing.

Due to expansion, a number of Drainage Engineers are required by Metrorod Norwich, one of East Anglia’s leading drain care and repair specialists. The company operates a 24/7 emergency service from its South Norfolk base covering Norfolk and part of Suffolk.

What does it entail?

Your communication skills will ensure that customers end their experience of the company’s service feeling delighted and willing to recommend you to others.

You MUST be used to working in a similar position within the industry and will therefore understand the requirements and constraints placed upon this role both in terms of Health & Safety, and customers’ expectations. You will also understand the need to maintain an accurate and detailed documentation trail.

The role commands £33k - £45k “OTE” and will include the sharing of 'out-of-hours' on-call coverage with your colleagues. Our team of engineers averages a 47-hour week.

  • Carrying out a range of services associated with the cleaning, clearance, repair, and maintenance of our customers’ drains
  • Operation of High-Pressure Water Jetting Equipment in line with rigorous safety standards
  • Carrying out surveys
  • Providing an exceptional standard of customer service and technical expertise
  • Accurately recording work/job details via a range of bespoke internal/client systems and apps
  • Communicate effectively with high profile commercial and domestic clients and Metro Rod Support Centre colleagues to ensure excellent customer service is always provided
  • Being part of an on-call rota to help service our clients 24/7 / 365 days a year.
What are we looking for?
  • High pressure water jetting and CCTV Surveying qualifications or experience equivalent
  • Excellent problem-solving ability with sound technical knowledge
  • Have a positive, flexible, can-do attitude
