Overview

Synaptics is looking for a dynamic and experienced Director, Sales to join our organization. You will be responsible for all local UK-based clients as well as leading a team for targeted accounts across Europe with a focus on SoC and Connectivity clients in the region, including OEMs, ODMs, Module manufacturers, CMs and relationships with partners in the Operator and Core IoT ecosystem. Understand and be able to successfully articulate SYNA’s value proposition and drive education on SYNA’s products and roadmap to significantly increase revenues and market share. This position reports to the Head of Sales & FAEs, EMEA.

Responsibilities & Competencies

Job Duties

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing Sales and FAE team, providing coaching, sales training, guidance, and professional development to elevate performance
  • Develop, maintain, and grow strong relationships with existing customers while actively identifying, pursuing, and securing new target accounts across the UK and EMEA IoT market
  • Seek out new opportunities in the Operator and Core IoT space for Synaptics products across the complete range of ISD, EEPD & WPD solutions in the UK and beyond
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand account penetration
  • Drive customer engagements from initial evaluations through design in, design win and on to mass production ramp
  • Map out and maintain org charts, executive maps, and penetration plans for all key accounts including key executives and decision makers
  • Support the Sales Team and BUs with specific EMEA market inputs and intelligence from our Clients and Partner ecosystem to helping drive a product roadmap that meets our current Clients demand and anticipates future market needs
  • Manage multinational and cross-business unit projects to ensure seamless execution
  • Forecast sales trends, and build and maintain a strong and organized pipeline
  • Own all account revenue tracking and forecasting activities

Qualifications (Requirements)
  • Bachelor’s degree (master’s, MBA preferred) in Electronics Engineering, Business Administration or related field or equivalent
  • 15 years of sales experience in the Semiconductor sales ecosystem across the EMEA region and beyond (US, Latam, APAC), including 6+ years managing and mentoring high performing sales teams
  • Aggressive, highly self-motivated candidate who already has an in depth understanding of the Operator and Core IoT market and ecosystem (OEMs, ODMs, System Integrators, SoM developers)
  • Track record of developing, planning and executing sales penetration plans to drive Synaptics solutions into customer platforms
  • Highly analytical with strong business acumen, able to transition easily between the strategic and the detailed
  • Experience negotiating, closing and driving to deploy large, complex contracts
  • Travel is an integral part of this role and will be based on the needs of the customers you support; 60% on a weekly basis across EMEA and once a quarter on average overseas
