Job Title: Director of Development and Fundraising

Hours: 0.6 FTE 3 days a week

Location: Silverstone Museum, Northamptonshire

Are you a visionary fundraiser with a passion for heritage, motorsport, and making a lasting impact?

Silverstone Museum – the home of British motorsport heritage – is seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Development & Fundraising to lead our fundraising efforts and shape the future of our museum.

This is a rare opportunity to join our Senior Leadership Team and an award-winning organisation which has seen considerable growth and success over the last few years. This new position will play a pivotal role in helping to take the organisation to still greater heights – and build long-term financial resilience for one of the UK’s most iconic sporting cultural destinations.

The role

As Director of Development & Fundraising, you’ll be the driving force behind our fundraising strategy – from cultivating high-value corporate partnerships and sponsorships to securing grants, donations, and legacy gifts. You’ll harness the power of our exhibitions, programming, and heritage to unlock new revenue streams and deepen our impact.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the development and execution of a bold, ambitious fundraising strategy.
  • Build and nurture relationships with corporate sponsors, donors, trusts, and foundations.
  • Craft compelling grant applications and impact reports that tell our story and secure vital funding.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and Trustees to align fundraising with our strategic vision.
  • Represent Silverstone Museum as a passionate ambassador, forging partnerships across the motorsport and business communities.
  • Be part of the Board’s Development & Fundraising Sub-Committee made up of selected Trustees and executive members.
