We have a vacancy for a Depot Assistant at the number one hydraulic solution and repair centre in Leeds. As a Depot Assistant, you will be expected to deliver a high level of customer service in operational and sales activities, ensuring customers receive a fast and efficient response to sales enquiries, building customer loyalty and enhancing the company’s reputation for service.

Provide a friendly and helpful response to customer enquiries to their total satisfaction in order to contribute to improving service levels to be the best in the industry

Answering the phone and helping the Centre Manager to control and direct the mobile engineers and vans

Always be well presented and use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment as required

Assemble hydraulic hoses to customer requirements.

Assist with stock control, ordering and product sourcing

Actively promote Pirtek products and services to Trade Counter customers

Proactively sell to both existing and new customers in order to meet and exceed sales and margin targets, and to continually work to build and develop the customer base at the branch

Accurate and regular order entry to help achieve minimum time delay between receipt of order and dispatch of goods, therefore maximising sales / stock turnover

Log and process jobs through the Pirtek IT system

Pro-actively promote Pirtek products and services to walk-in customers

Assist the Centre Manager with stock control, ordering and distribution to the technicians

Provide assistance to Centre staff within the franchise when requested

Day to day operation of the sales counter area, ensuring it is kept clean, presentable, well stocked and merchandised at all times

When required to, use a company vehicle to deliver products

To provide assistance to Mobile Technicians within the workshop and on-site when required.

General housekeeping of the centre

Good communication skills, both orally and in writing

Basic mechanical knowledge

The ability to present oneself in a professional and courteous manner to customers and staff

It would be preferential, but not essential, to have business to business or trade counter experience.

A base knowledge in mechanical systems

Ability to work unsupervised and to time constraints

Successful completion of any Pirtek Training program as requested by management

Computer Literate with a good knowledge of MS Office products

Good manual dexterity and physical ability- for hose assembly and stock control

Previous experience in a technical/engineering environment advantageous but not essential

Educational requirements

GCSE in English and Maths advantageous
