The role

As a Defence Support Operative, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be maintaining, operating, and driving Armoured Fighting Vehicles and other specialist platforms, delivering critical support to the Contract in a dynamic and high-impact environment.

Day-to-day responsibilities
  • Perform Level 1 maintenance and repairs to vehicle-specific standards, following authorised procedures
  • Safely operate vehicles on public roads and off-road, day and night
  • Conduct preparatory tasks including minor repairs, cleaning, painting, and refuelling
  • Manage collection and delivery of vehicle platforms as required
  • Support usage tracking and routine checks of stores and equipment.

This role is full time working 39 hours per week and is based on site at Bovington, Dorset.

Essential experience of the Defence Support Operative
  • Proficient in IT with solid knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong communicator, confident in representing the department during meetings and site visits
  • Must be 21 or older due to licensing requirements.
Qualifications for the Defence Support Operative
  • Full manual UK Driving Licence.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
