Job summary

A nationwide packaging organization is seeking a Day Shift Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join their Desborough site. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in maintenance within the packaging or manufacturing sector and possess an NVQ level 3 qualification. Key responsibilities include attending to machinery breakdowns, performing preventative and reactive maintenance, and collaborating with other engineers. Opportunities for progression and training are available. The role offers a competitive hourly rate and regular hours, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

  • Apprentice trained with NVQ level 3 qualification.
  • Experience in repairing components like Motors and PLCs.

Job Role: Day Shift Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)
Location: Desborough, Northamptonshire
Salary: From £23 per hour
Hours: Monday-Friday Double Days (weekly rotations) 06.00-14.00, 14.00-22.00
Job Type: Full time, Contract

The client:

Interaction Technical have partnered with a well‑established, nationwide packaging organisation that, due to expansion & rapid growth are welcoming another maintenance engineer at their site based in Northamptonshire. This opportunity offers a clear structure for progression & development through salary increases after probation & opportunity for funded qualifications.

The Duties:
  • Attend breakdowns on site machinery & conveyor system
  • Carry out PPM’s and reactive breakdowns and maintenance in a timely manner to minimise machinery downtime.
  • Liaise with Engineering management & fellow engineers to resolve breakdowns efficiently, professionally & in a timely manner
  • Follow health & safety procedures
  • Attend training & courses for further development, in line with training
  • Working with other engineers on the team to maintain and repair plant machinery.
The Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a maintenance engineer in a packaging, manufacturing, FMCG or similar industry (essential)
  • A good balance of Mechanical/Electrical Fault Finding, Repairs with an electrical bias preferred (essential)
  • Apprentice trained with a minimum NVQ level 3 qualification within electrical/mechanical engineering (essential)
  • Previous experience repairing & fault finding on components such as Motors, Gearboxes, Conveyor Systems, Converters, Inverters or PLCs (essential)
  • Understanding of Automated processes (advantageous)
  • An openness to learn, share practices & attend training courses when needed (advantageous)
  • Full UK Drivers License
