A leading international lottery operator is seeking a Mid-Senior BI Manager to own the BI roadmap and lead analytics initiatives. The candidate should have over 14 years of experience in BI, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a strong expertise in Power BI. Overview

We are Allwyn UK, part of the Allwyn Entertainment Group – a multi‑national lottery operator with market‑leading presence across Europe (Czech Republic, Austria, Greece, Cyprus & Italy). Our purpose is to deliver more money to good causes through a transformed National Lottery experience.

Responsibilities
  • Functional Ownership of BI Roadmap – Define, shape and maintain a domain‑driven BI roadmap aligned with enterprise strategy and business unit priorities; evaluate and prioritise new requests.
  • Domain Leadership & Business Partnering – Serve as the primary BI contact for designated business domains; build partnerships with Finance, Marketing, Operations and other leaders; facilitate workshops and forums.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship – Directly oversee Data Platform, Business Analysts and Visualisation; guide best‑practice adoption and foster a collaborative learning culture.
  • Innovation Mindset & Continuous Improvement – Promote creative solutions, pilot new BI tools, and track emerging trends (e.g., Power BI features) to enhance reporting.
  • Hands‑On Reporting & BI Expertise – Provide expert‑level guidance on Power BI or equivalent tools; collaborate on advanced modelling, DAX optimisation and performance tuning.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Influence – Act as a trusted advisor, translate analytics into actionable recommendations, lead requirements gathering, and negotiate project timelines.
  • Data Quality & Compliance – Work with governance/security teams to ensure lottery compliance, oversee data validation and QA, and guarantee data accuracy.
  • User Satisfaction & Self‑Service Promotion – Advocate for self‑service capabilities, support dataset creation, run training sessions, and measure user satisfaction.
  • Project & Delivery Management – Oversee end‑to‑end analytics initiatives, manage backlog, UAT and deployment; ensure on‑schedule, on‑budget delivery and report risks to senior leadership.

  • Roadmap Execution & Innovation – % of roadmap items delivered on schedule; integration of new, innovative features.
  • Stakeholder Satisfaction – Positive feedback from business units; evidence of effective backlog prioritisation.
  • Data Accuracy & Regulatory Alignment – Minimal data quality incidents; no compliance breaches.
  • Team Performance & Development – Growth in analyst skill sets; positive synergy with Engineering Manager.
  • User Engagement & Self‑Service Adoption – Increase in self‑service dashboards and reduced ad‑hoc requests.
Experience We’re Looking For
  • 14+ Years in BI/Analytics
  • Domain‑driven data delivery in regulated or complex business environments.
  • Business partnering, stakeholder management and influence at all levels.
  • Translating business strategy into actionable analytics roadmaps.
  • Leadership in delivering reporting and analytics solutions (preferably regulated).
  • Hands‑on troubleshooting, optimisation and direct analytics development.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills with a history of high‑performing teams.
  • Expertise in Reporting Tools (Power BI Preferred) – advanced data modelling, DAX, performance tuning.
  • Functional & Technical Roadmap Management – owning roadmaps, balancing user requests, compliance and strategy.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement – championing creative solutions and evaluating new AI/ML or BI features.
  • Project Delivery & Stakeholder Management – end‑to‑end BI projects, UAT, deployment and cross‑functional communication.
  • Data Governance & Compliance Awareness – familiarity with lottery or similar regulated industry guidelines, anonymisation and masking.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship – coaching Business Analysts and promoting best practices.
Additional Qualifications
  • AWS Certifications (AWS Certified Big Data - Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of betting and gaming (lottery) domain is preferred.
  • Experience in large‑scale data environments in a fast‑paced or startup‑like setting is a plus.
