Job summary

Job description
Counsellor – 1 Year Fixed-Term Contract – 35 hours per week

Join Ormiston Families as a qualified counsellor to work with children and young people aged 5-13. The role is a 1 year fixed‑term contract, 35 hours per week, based in the home office in March, Cambridgeshire, with daily travel across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. Part‑time (minimum 21 hours) may be considered.

We provide a single‑session thinking (SST) approach with training and clinical supervision. Most sessions will be face‑to‑face in schools; SST sessions are mainly online.

Key Responsibilities

Provide blended first appointments using SST and short‑term therapeutic interventions, ensuring safeguarding and child‑protection standards are met.

Successful Candidates Will
  • Be a qualified counsellor and BACP registered.
  • Have a good understanding of the needs of CYP and their families aged 5-13.
  • Have a minimum of 12 months post‑qualification experience working with this age group.
  • Have a good understanding of safeguarding and a commitment to keeping CYP safe.
