Role Overview

As an EC&I Engineer, you’ll support the design, development, and delivery of Electrical, Control & Instrumentation systems for complex engineering projects. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you’ll help ensure systems are safe, reliable, and meet customer and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in designing EC&I systems from concept to commissioning
  • Produce and review technical documentation
  • Control philosophies and functional design specs
  • Collaborate with mechanical and safety teams for integrated designs
  • Support installation, testing, and commissioning activities
  • Liaise with suppliers and contribute to design reviews
  • Provide input to project planning and proposals
Skills & Experience
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control & Instrumentation, or similar
  • Experience with PLC/HMI systems and CAD tools (e.g. AutoCAD Electrical)
  • Understanding of control systems, instrumentation, and motor control
  • Familiarity with relevant standards (e.g. BS EN 60204, BS 7671)
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Full UK driving licence (travel may be required)
  • Experience in regulated sectors (e.g. Nuclear, Defence)
  • Knowledge of functional safety standards and tools (e.g. SISTEMA)
  • Hands‑on experience with electrical panels and PLC programming
