Overview

Join to apply for the Control Panel/Equipment Test Engineer role at PREMIER OFFICE SYSTEMS.

Location: St Helens | Salary: Up to £42,000 (banding dependent) | Days only: Mon-Thurs 8:00-16:30, Fri 8:00-14:00

We’re supporting a leading engineering & maintenance provider with the recruitment of a Control Panel / Equipment Test Engineer to join their St Helens site. This role offers the opportunity to work on varied projects across multiple sectors, including chemical, power, utilities, renewables, and food & beverage.

The Role

Responsibilities

  • Inspection, testing and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation panels/systems (in-house and on-site).
  • Ensuring all work meets customer specifications, deadlines, and compliance standards.
  • Liaising directly with customers on-site to oversee and sign off works.
  • Supporting the build and wiring of control panels when required.
  • Carrying out site visits for modifications and upgrades to existing/new panels.
  • Occasional small bore pipe pressure testing.
About You
  • Time-served electrician or instrument technician.
  • City & Guilds 2391 Test & Inspection.
  • City & Guilds 2382 (18th Edition).
  • Experienced in testing and commissioning industrial control panels, instrumentation, and control panel wiring.
  • Knowledge of 3-phase systems, MCC control panels, PLCs, and schematic drawings.
  • Strong customer-facing and problem-solving skills.
