A major UK retailer is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join their Corporate Affairs team. You will support engaging PR campaigns across various lifestyle brands, manage the press office, and organise events. Strong communication skills, an interest in lifestyle trends, and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools are essential. This role offers the opportunity to drive impactful campaigns in a collaborative environment, with competitive benefits including discounts and flexible working options.
London Store Support Centre and Home, 33 Charterhouse Street, London Greater London, EC1M 6HA (Permanent)
We’d all like amazing work to do, and real work-life balance. That’s waiting for you at Sainsbury’s. This is where you’ll enjoy a broad range of projects, no matter what your level, because our Corporate Affairs team is non-hierarchical and truly plugged in to the rest of the business. Whether it’s internal, external or government relations, you’ll have the chance to collaborate with everyone from food waste to health, or general merchandising to Nectar, in order to support some amazing campaigns. You’ll help build trust around Sainsbury’s with customers, senior stakeholders, media and more. And if non‑linear progression is what you’re after, you’ll find opportunities are all around.
Our Consumer Communications team sits within Corporate Affairs and plays a key role in shaping how customers engage with our lifestyle brands, including Argos, Habitat and Tu Clothing. We are a collaborative, creative and fast‑paced team that works closely with colleagues across the business to bring products and brand stories to life. Joining us means becoming part of a supportive environment where ideas are welcomed and innovation is encouraged.
In this role, you will support the delivery of engaging PR campaigns and communications projects across our lifestyle brands. You will work closely with colleagues, journalists, agencies and suppliers to help source products, draft media materials, respond to press enquiries and support media coverage tracking. You will also play a key part in organising and running press and influencer events, as well as supporting the creation of photography shoots and lookbooks.
Day‑to‑day, you will help run the Lifestyle press office, oversee sample management, stay close to trends and competitor activity, and contribute to meetings across the wider Corporate Affairs division.
You will bring excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally. You’ll be highly organised, proactive and full of enthusiasm, with a genuine interest in interiors, fashion and wider consumer culture. You should feel confident working in a fast‑paced environment and be ready to get involved in a variety of tasks and projects.
We are committed to being a truly inclusive retailer so you’ll be welcomed whoever you are and wherever you work. Around here, there’s always the chance to try something new — whether that’s as part of an evolving team or somewhere else across the business — and we take development seriously and promise to support you. We also recognise and celebrate colleagues who go the extra mile, and where possible offer flexible working.
Starting off with colleague discount, you’ll be able to save 10% on your shopping online and in‑store at Sainsbury’s, Argos, TU and Habitat, and we regularly increase the discount to 15% at points during the year. We’ve also got you covered for your future with our pensions scheme and life cover. You may be eligible for a performance‑related bonus of up to 5% of salary, depending on how we perform.
Your wellbeing is important to us too. You’ll receive an annual holiday allowance and you can buy up to an additional week’s holiday. We also offer other benefits that will help your money go further such as season ticket loans, cycle‑to‑work scheme, health cash plans, salary advance (where you can access some of your pay before payday) as well as access to a great range of discounts from hundreds of other retailers. And if you ever need it there is also an employee assistance programme.
Moments that matter are as important to us as they are to you which is why we give up to 26 weeks’ pay for maternity or adoption leave and up to 4 weeks’ pay for paternity leave.
Please see www.sainsburys.jobs for a range of our benefits (note, length of service and eligibility criteria may apply).
