Qualifications

Job Overview

The team is based at The Redwoods Centre in Shrewsbury and provides mental health assessment, treatment and support to people in Shropshire. Working 24/7, we support individuals experiencing a mental health crisis or requiring additional support. It's a multidisciplinary team including Band 5/6 nurses, support workers, prescribers, medical staff, psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers, administrators and business support staff.

Main Duties
  • Provide specialist assessment and care planning in conjunction with service users and carers.
  • Evaluate treatment plans and undertake home treatment.
  • Triage and assess referrals received by the service in liaison with multi‑disciplinary colleagues.
  • Co‑ordinate the work of the team.
  • Other duties as required by the multidisciplinary team.

Person Specification
Qualifications and Training
  • Recorded/registered qualification in CMHN, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Psychological Therapy.
  • Post‑qualification experience, such as formal courses and training relevant to complex mental health needs related to emotional instability.
Desirable Criteria
  • Qualifications in psychological interventions such as DBT, SCM, CBT, EMDR, MBT relevant to a client group with complex mental health needs.
Experience
  • Experience of working with a client group presenting with emotional dysregulation, high‑risk challenging and chaotic behaviour, complex trauma needs.
  • Experience of working with people who have difficulty engaging with services.
  • Experience of working with people engaging in high‑risk behaviours and self‑harm.
Desirable Experience
  • Experience within a structured therapeutic model individually and in group settings.
  • Experience facilitating psycho‑educational and/or skills‑based groups.
