Our Intellectual Property & Technology (IP&T) team arelooking to recruit a Senior Associate or Director-level commerciallawyer to join our Leeds office on a 12-month fixed-term contract,working as part of a multi-disciplinary practice that operates at theleading edge of modern business.

Our Team

Our IP&T team in the UK advise on a broad range of commercialcontracts across a variety of industry sectors including technology,telecoms, advertising, media, food & drink, retail, financialservices, pharma and life sciences, and sports/entertainment, amongst others.

In addition, our team advises extensively in relation to IPprotection and exploitation, consumer law and data protection. We actfor a broad range of clients from fast growing UK companies and largemultinationals to governments and sovereign wealth funds.

We also provide commercial, IP and IT support to our Corporate teamsin respect of M&A transactions in Leeds and across the UK.

You will join our IP&T team in Leeds which is a relatively smallbut also well-respected and ranked by the legal directories such asChambers. The team is an integral part of the broader IP&T team inthe UK. You'll be working with a very experienced Director who leadsthe team in Leeds alongside a mid-level associate and trainee. As atruly integrated national team, you will work with others in the teamin Manchester, Birmingham and London on a daily basis as wellcolleagues in other practice groups and offices around the world.

You'll have the opportunity to get involved in a varied workload withplenty of scope for direct client contact. The role will suit anoutstanding lawyer with a commercial attitude along with a confidentand proactive approach, with good people skills, the ability to workas a team player.

You

We are looking for someone with significant experience and knowledgeofcommercial contracts in some or all of the industry sectorsreferenced above, has extensive experience in undertaking corporatesupport work on M&A matters, a good working knowledge of dataprivacy issues in the commercial contracts context, and ideally,experience in advising on consumer law issues and/or technologycontracts, with a minimum of six years' PQE.

You'll be technically strong, with excellent communication skills,able to take the lead on matters and supervise more junior members ofthe team.
