CNC Turning Machinist - Aerospace Manufacturing

Join a leading aerospace manufacturer at the forefront of precision engineering. Wild Recruitment is seeking experienced CNC Turning Machinists to support high‑spec component production for global aerospace clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC lathes using Fanuc control systems.
  • Read and interpret complex aerospace engineering drawings and process specifications.
  • Machine components to tight tolerances and specified surface finishes.
  • Conduct in‑process inspections using micrometres, verniers, bore gauges, and other precision tools.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and tool cleaning.
  • Accurately complete production and quality documentation.
  • Follow all health & safety and quality assurance procedures (AS9100 standards).
  • Collaborate with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering teams to ensure parts meet design intent and customer requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience operating CNC lathes in aerospace or precision engineering environments.
  • Ability to program and edit directly at the machine.
  • Strong proficiency in engineering drawing interpretation.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 quality standards (preferred).
  • Skilled in using precision measuring equipment.
  • Detail‑oriented with a quality‑first mindset.
  • Flexible, proactive, and able to work independently or in a team.
  • Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering / CNC Machining (preferred).
