6am-2pm Monday - Friday ( first 2 months will be spent on days whilst training)

gap technical are proud to be representing this manufacturing business in their search for a CNC Operator to work at their facility based near Welwyn Garden City.

Performance Objectives
  • Set and operate a small CNC (HURCO)
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, models and specification
  • Use of basic handheld inspection equipment (vernier, micrometre etc.)
  • Carry out daily /weekly machine maintenance /checks
  • Ensure all jigs and fixtures are stored correctly and are in serviceable condition
  • Report any machine defects to Line Manager
  • Comply with all company Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements.
  • Use of all measuring equipment as defined within Inspection Plans to check conformance to requirements.
  • Carry out in process inspection in accordance with relevant inspection plans to ensure that components are conforming prior to passing on to subsequent operations.
  • Ensure that components identified as non-conforming during in process inspection are identified and communicated in accordance with the Non-Conformance Procedure.
  • Support Root Cause Analysis activities when non-conformance occurs to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Carry out and record all TPM activities in accordance with the specified schedule for the equipment being operated.
  • Engage and contribute to Continuous Improvement activities to maximise efficiency.
  • Comply with all company procedures and policies.
