Job description

Due to retirement and an ever‑growing ইতিহাস Nursing Team, we have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and compassionate Clinical Support Worker to join our Nursing Team and work within our supportive and forward‑thinking GP Training Practice. We have a large diverse team of nurses which includes, Clinical Support Workers, ANPs, Practice Nurses, Specialist Nurses, research nurses and a Trainee Nurse Associate. You will need excellent communication and organisation skills and above all you will have the ambition and drive needed to work within an environment of change and innovation.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support the Nursing Team working within Brownlow Health in the delivery of the practice agenda. This will include assisting the clinical team in the management of long‑term conditions and general clinical duties. The post holder will provide care to patients following practice protocols and national guidelines and competencies.

Brownlow Health is a large GP training practice committed to supporting our team and developing our services. We have a diverse practice population over six sites in the vibrant City of Liverpool.

We offer a wide variety of specialist services, including Homelessness, Asylum Seekers/Refugees, Care homes, Student health, Sexual health, Obesity and Frailty and have a large multi‑disciplinary team of Nurses, GPs, Pharmacists, Care‑co‑ordinators, 1st contact physios, Social prescribers, Health coaches, Drugs worker etc.

We have a large supportive nursing team of over 40, managed by three Nurse Managers.

Job responsibilities
  • Undertake new patient registration consultations
  • ണ്ട്, evaluate and interpret non invasive blood pressure examination
  • Obtain and test urine specimens, report outcomes and inform appropriate member of staff as necessary
  • Management of wound care
  • Assist the GP with minor surgery
  • Administer Influenza, Shingles and Pneumococצן vaccinations and B12 (dependent on training)
  • Health promotion and healthy lifestyle advice
  • Support patients to self care through signposting to other services
  • Provision of cryotherapy (dependent on training)
  • Support the clinical staff in the delivery of LANGUAGE external clinics/services provided by the Practice
  • BP and weight for contraception review
  • LTC monitoring under the guidance of the PN/NP
  • Diabetic physical health checks
  • Take responsibility for a lead area
  • Undertake H‑Pylori testing (after training)
  • To ensure stock maintenance by regularly ordering stock, stock rotation and monitoring use. Ensuring all rooms has adequate stock for daily use.
